Messe Frankfurt announces Waste & Recycling Expo Mexico (WREM), the International Trade Show for Waste Management, Collection and Recycling Technologies. The show is scheduled to take place March 10 – 12, 2010 at the CIEC World Trade Center in Mexico City. Building on the successful Canadian Waste & Recycling Expo and established industry relationships, Messe Frankfurt is pleased to launch this event in Mexico to serve the growing domestic market. With more than 150 exhibitors and 3,000 attendees anticipated to participate in the first edition, Waste & Recycling Expo Mexico will be Mexico’s only trade show specific to the waste and recycling industries.
Mexico is positioned for increased opportunities and developments due to the growing population and new initiatives in waste collection and recycling capabilities. According to the U.S. Commercial Service, in 2008 the total market in Mexico for solid municipal waste was 905 million US Dollars. They anticipate that the total market will continue to increase to reach 932.2 million US Dollars by the end of 2009 and grow an additional 5 percent from 2009 to 2010. In addition, the increase of produced recyclable and hazardous waste in Mexico has grown tremendously, creating a wealth of opportunities for firms specializing in these sectors. According to SEMARNAT (The Secretary of Evironment and Natural Resources in Mexico), the amount of recyclable waste has grown from 700,000 tons in 2000 to 1.2 million tons in 2006. In addition, the production of hazardous waste has grown from 5.3 million tons in 1999 to 14.3 million tons in 2008. “Waste management is a growing concern in Mexico and represents a sector with significant sales opportunities for US companies. Trade shows in Mexico remain an effective vechicle for developing business leads and exploring the market”, states Matthew Hilgendorf, Commercial Officer with the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City.
Responding to solid interest from manufacturers, associations and other industry organizations, Waste & Recycling Expo will provide a platform for companies to reach top decision makers in the Mexican market for waste management implementation, recycling technologies and the purchase of new equipment. With a new recycling trend on the horizon and government supported waste management and collection, the trade show will offer visitors the opportunity to source new products and services, seek out new technology, attend informative training sessions and bring the industry together for networking and professional collaboration.
“We are confident that Waste & Recycling Expo Mexico will address the needs of the market in Mexico.” said Messe Frankfurt North America president, David Audrain. “The premier event will focus on the new trends and technology in waste and recycling and attract a collection of serious buyers from private industry as well as federal, provincial and municipal governments.”
WREM will focus on all aspects of the waste and recycling markets including composting systems & components, construction & demolition waste, scrap recycling, incinerations, gasification and thermal technologies, infrastructure redevelopment, public works, landfill operations, systems and materials recovery facility, transfer stations, storage, containers and recycling equipment, services, trucks & transportation equipments, waste treatment and disposal, software, technology and more. More than 150 prominent exhibitors are expected to showcase their cutting-edge products and technologies in these categories to a highly qualified audience in Mexico this March. In addition to leading Mexican companies, WREM will welcome several US and Canadian based companies as well as participation from Europe and Asia.
Complementing our dynamic show floor presentation, the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ), GmbH will support the event with thought-provoking presentations and educational seminars to benefit the industry. GTZ is a German government organization that has been collaborating with the most important Mexican groups in the solid waste sector in Mexico since 1997 as charged by the Federal German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development. GTZ facilitates the introduction of a solid waste management program throughout Mexico and is known and respected in the industry.
Waste & Recycling Expo Mexico will take place March 10 – 12, 2010 as Mexico’s only trade show specific to the waste and recycling industries.
